Crazy Raven Bar & Grill is located on Cypress Mountain in West Vancouver. I did not plan to make a trip up to the mountains just to try out Crazy Raven. Unfortunately, I was trapped on the mountain because my boyfriend wanted to see snow and the snow caused too many accidents that they had to close the road. We were trapped up there for 1-2 hours and there is nothing to do (because we literally just went up there to see snow). Instead of spending time at the food court, we decided to get comfy in an actual restaurant.
Crazy Raven is located in the Cypress Lounge. They have a fireplace and couches at the corner, lots of high-rise tables, and a bar (of course). Very warm and cozy cabin atmosphere. Probably due to the road closure, everyone is trapped up here and wanted to get in. The restaurant is pack full and it sure kept all waiters and waitress very busy. Hence, service was really slow. But its okay. We wanted to stay as long as we can until they re-open the road anyways 😛
I ordered the Raven Burger. It is a burger served with applewood smoked bacon, crispy onion, smoked provolone and chipotle bbq sauce for $13.75. My boyfriend wanted to try the soup of the day – the Crab Bisque. So switched out my side french fries to the soup of the day with an extra $2.
The Raven burger was really dry. The patty is not juicy but on the bright side it’s not overcooked. The crispy onion is not crispy at all. It was soggy. The sauce is nowhere to be found. It was very disappointing.
The crab bisque is not bad but not outstanding either. It has good flavour but there’s no crab to be found in the bisque. It’s also confusing cause it tasted like lobster bisque.
My boyfriend ordered Fish and Chips. It was actually pretty good. The batter was light. However, the french fries on the side was disappointing. Lack of seasoning big time. Could had use more salt.
I would still come back and try their wings and pizza if I ever get stuck on the mountain again! (JUST when I’m stuck :P)
